The summit brings with it an interesting view, and Anime Expo the news of MangaGamer's partnership with AliceSoft.
It's a policy of Denwatls to keep the titles in work a secret for a number of reasons, but with the news of this partnership and the details we have leaked ourselves it feels only proper to make the announcement official:
DSP#2 is AliveZ, an AliceSoft visual novel without gameplay from the mid 2000s. And though we've reached ~94% TL at the time of this writing, out of respect for MangaGamer's new deal we will be halting our work on AliveZ and switching to DSP#3 (A non-AliceSoft title). It's a decision tinged with joy and sorrow, official AliceSoft releases have been desired for quite some time, and even if our work is shuttered we're excited for those who have made this deal happen and hope to see it succeed.
To that end, Denwatls would like to offer its work to MangaGamer for free, after the translation had been completed and edited at least once of course, or will resume work on the project should AliceSoft pull out of the West. If the former does happen we will make a short blurb about it in the blog, otherwise it will remain shelved as we watch how these events unfold.
And with that, work on DSP#3, the first flagship game Denwatls will translate and the project the group was founded for, will begin. The slight bump in schedule means the tools aren't quite in place yet, but will be shifted to high priority with the recent changes. Look forward to it!
